Our Registered Clinical Counsellors offer specialized services dedicated to promoting the mental well-being of CAF & RCMP Veterans, first responders, and their families. They are trained to address the unique challenges faced by these individuals. They provide therapeutic interventions, support, and guidance to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Our clinical counsellors work collaboratively with clients to develop coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and foster positive mental health.
SOCIAL WORKER, MSW, RSW
With more than 10 years of experience, Omen Imoisili is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker known for delivering compassionate, effective therapeutic care. Passionate about supporting individuals through life’s most difficult moments, she specializes in working with first responders and families navigating emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges. Omen brings a wealth of knowledge from her work across diverse settings, including private practice, hospitals, community mental health, addiction services with Alberta Health Services, and high-security environments such as maximum remand facilities. Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, substance use, and relationship issues.
Omen is trained in evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Each session is thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients, fostering growth, resilience, and healing. Omen is deeply committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Her goal is to help individuals build self-awareness, develop practical coping strategies, and achieve their personal and emotional goals. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Carleton University in Ottawa and is in good standing with the British Columbia, Alberta Colleges of Social Workers and Ontario College of Social worker and Services. Omen remains actively engaged in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest trends and best practices in mental health care. Outside of her clinical work, Omen enjoys spending time in nature, watching sports with family, cooking, reading, volunteering, relaxing on the beach, and engaging in research. She values community and is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others.
REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR, RCC, RN
With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Karen serves as a Registered Clinical Counsellor at the Centre of Excellence, specializing in supporting veterans and first responders. Karen brings a wealth of expertise as a Registered Nurse, post-secondary educator, and counsellor. A strong commitment to client-centered, holistic care shapes their approach, focusing on the unique strengths, resilience, and lived experiences of each individual. This perspective allows for a comprehensive, tailored approach to fostering optimal health and well-being. The practice integrates evidence-informed therapies, customized to meet the specific needs of each client.
